A Story of Taking Root
A Story of Taking Root

For years, the Taiwan Film Festival Berlin moved between cinemas each fall. After eight editions, the community needed a physical space.

In 2025, Prinzenallee 60 became home to three organizations:

Deerland Tea sources specialty teas directly from Taiwan and transmits tea culture through workshops and collaborations with Berlin venues. At P60, tea creates space for daily exchange.

encounters bookspace, founded by Hong Kong writer and translator Mary Lee, serves as both bookstore and project space for cultural exchange. It offers East Asian literature in multiple languages and hosts reading groups, author talks, exhibitions, and screenings with an inter-Asian perspective.

Impression Taiwan e.V. brings the Taiwan Film Festival's mission into year-round programming—monthly screenings, discussions, and community gatherings.

Located in Wedding's multicultural neighborhood, a former shisha bar has become a hub for East Asian culture. The three organizations operate independently while sharing a vision: creating a sustainable ecosystem where cultural exchange happens naturally, shifting from annual event to daily presence.
